Welcome to the Dayzee Love website. You will find graphic and web design examples from the last 18 months. These range from pin buttons (badges), waterproof stickers, postcards, business cards, thank you cards, web banner and avatar sets and the Villas Yasemin website.
You may be curious about the name and it's possible that purple diamond shaped tablets spring to mind but I will explain. The name Dayzee comes from a simple miscommunication that has happened to me so many times. I say my name on the phone and people think I say Dayzee. I always assumed that the problem was due to my regional accent making it sound this way. Since I have been chatting on Etsy I have discovered this isn't the case. I have made friends with other people called Stacey that have the same problem. Despite being form the Phoenix Arizona and Ontario California people still mishear them and think they are called Dayzee too.
The Love came from another random event. My partner went to buy me a domain name to help me get my art online. He came across an extension called a '.love' and instantly knew this would be the one to buy for me. I was the proud owner of dayzee.love. It cost the same as a top level domain but we found out later that it was in fact a sub-domain and that I would somehow have to get people to install a browser extension that mimicked spyware to get people to be able to view my site.
So...... it was to be Dayzee-love.co.uk instead with complimentary webspace by way of recompense for this unscrupulous business practice.
I started designing on an Atari using a package called Calamus. When I went to University I was introduced to Apple Macs and Photoshop, this is still my favourite package. I also like to use Illustrator and InDesign. I have experience in using Quark Express but like a mix of industry standard packages from the Creative Suite and quirky packages like Xara 3D.
I moved quite naturally into web design learning both Dreamweaver and hand coding at the same time. I can write HMTL, XHTML and CSS.
Over the years I have used a number of software packages to create animations or interactive compositions, such as Flash, ImageReady, After Effects and Fireworks. I find the Adobe interface is very easy to work with and can transfer skills easily from one package to another.
