Welcome to Dayzee Love, you will find graphic, web and product design examples from the last 18 months. Many of these designs were commissioned as custom designs from small businesses and start-up online stores that are part of the handmade community on Etsy.
Working with members of the creative community has proved to be a very fulfilling and enriching experience with many clients becoming regular customers. Quite a few of my best sellers were originally requested by Etsy sellers who then recommended the items to team members or their own customers that are also sellers on Etsy.
Supporting the handmade community is a pleasure and in return this community has provided a fabulous platform to meet the ideal customer and provide them with a much needed service.
I started designing on an Atari using a package called Calamus. When I went to University I was introduced to Apple Macs and Photoshop and this broadened my horizons.
I use both Mac and PC and over the years I have gained experience and skills in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Quark, Flash and Dreamweaver. I mainly concentrate on using Creative Suite and quirky packages like PixelMator and was a big fan of Xara 3D.
Custom Graphic Design work is available from Etsy at Dayzee Love Designs.
I moved quite naturally into web design learning both Dreamweaver and hand coding at the same time. I can write HMTL, XHTML and CSS.
Over the years I have used a number of software packages to create animations or interactive compositions, such as Flash, ImageReady, After Effects and Fireworks. I find the Adobe interface is very easy to work with and can transfer skills easily from one package to another.
I took a professional studies course in Web Design and Graphics for Web in order to bring my skills up to date. I am now studying CSS3 and HTML5.
I like to design gifts such as desk accessories and other items of geekery. My latest range concentrates on upcycled materials like vintage scrabble tiles. One of these designs was recently features in a roadshow as part of a sustainable living exhibit created by StartUK.
I am regularly asked to make custom items and they are available to buy from Cheeky Geeky.
